Mark Muradzira, a Zimbabwean man, was hospitalized after fasting for 33 days in order to raise $200,000 to buy a Lamborghini for his lover.
In his quest to buy his lover her dream automobile, a young man believed God would give him a Lamborghini if he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness.
According to The Mbare Times, Mark, a Youth Leader of Risen Saints Church in Bindura, central Zimbabwe, hid away in a secluded mountain to avoid being enticed to eat.
After only 33 days, concerned friends tracked him down and transferred the malnourished 27-year-old to Bindura General Hospital, where he is claimed to be recovering.
The unemployed Muradzira, was desperate to give his fiancee the automobile she desired but couldn’t find the £150,000 he needed, so he decided to fast for 40 days in the hopes of enlisting God’s assistance.
While addressing on the subject, his church’s leader, Bishop Mawuru, said: “He should at least have fasted for a job since he is unemployed.”
His fellow church members attempted to raise enough money to buy their poor congregant a £150,000 Lamborghini, but the fundraising ran out of money around the £30 mark.
The money they were able to earn has since been used to help Muradzira pay off a large medical expenses.
